Can someone help me with Terragen about the beach and landscape. I'm not quite happy with it
or do you think it looks okay?

It looks pretty good to me, maybe more beach on the mountains in the distance, and more "wet sand" on the beaches.

Try making the boundary layers more fuzzy. It may be an idea to add slope constraints to the sand to let underlying rocks and stuff show through. You may also want to edit the colour of the greenery - to me it seems too saturated. The shoreline suffers from the common sharp edges problem - I'm not sure how to get around this, although moving the water level up or down by amounts up to about 1/2 a terrain unit may help. Another point, darken the shadows may help the overall quality - the image needs more contrast.

Still, looks promising. Hope the points I've mentioned help.

Ask . He's excellent with Terragen, and his gallery is very nice.

Thanks, though I dont see any beaches in his gallery. Yet it did helped me for possible better pics in the future :)

More fuzzy .. well I've seen sharp edges between grass and sand for real, on some slopes of a river for example, at some places where boats go through it has a high tide and low tide like a sea too thus also some edges are exactly like a beach, even with waves when a boat passes ;)
but back to the point, there what I saw, was the more darker wet smooth sand, more dry and lighter smooth sand and then the disturbed dry sand where water hardly or never comes but where grass wont grow (yet)
As for the sharp edges at the waterline .. the only solution I found to make it dissapear was to make pics from a high altitude, problem is, I wont get the same view as from first person when that high.
I'll try to move the waterline a little up though I doubt it would make any difference since the lines are there 1/2 unit up too.
The green color, indeed good point, I thought it was looking some "weird" but thanks for confirming it, will make it a little darker or more green green like nature.
Darken the shadows .. hmm .. need to change the exposure for that, will do that for the next picture too.

I'll do my best, I'm far from being as good as anyone else.
Thanks for your advice

You don't need to change the exposure to darken the shadows: altering "shadow lightness" in the lighting dialog box will do that.

More beach on the mountain? Hmm I thought less since its further away you should see less ... then again ...
As for more wet sand .. yea indeed, waves should cover more, problem is Terragen wont show the waves on the line where water and land crosses. no matter how big I set the waves, they just wont show on the shore line.
That would have been a sollution to the sharp edges on the water line as well.
Also, in my opinion, its not always so that you have a beach but sometimes a sort of ridge where the land makes a more steaper dive into the water yet not so high like a cliff. Like one meter high or so.
Hmm ....

And then when you think you have all settings right, making the render to find out those settings proove your glimpse you saw from the preview, that right then your computer stops and you have to reboot, thus loozing that setting you cant find again. Happened to me once.
But more wet sand is a good idea.

Thanks :)

in there .... ohhh :O_o:
Maybe that will help with sunsets better too
I'll try that, thanks

also wonder how to get a sunset like the preset sunsets, in a redish glow (yea decay I know) but in the presets the sun is no longer on the land but far up in the high mountains .. but I would like the sun more on the land too since I can see the sun, thus it should shine on the land as well.
Maybe a bug in Terragen
